New bus interchange at Black Ash

Cork Airport warmly welcomes the news that members of Cork City Council have voted to approve plans for the new bus interchange at Black Ash. The new interchange will greatly improve public transport accessibility within the city and to the airport, particularly from the suburbs east, west and north of the city.
In the meantime, Cork Airport is engaging further with public transport providers to further enhance bus connectivity for passengers. The airport needs round the clock bus connectivity with Cork city centre, to service late night and early morning flights. In addition, Cork Airport is working with public transport partners seeking to widen the direct bus services to the hinterland by adding a Cork Airport stop on services from Waterford, Tipperary, Kerry and other key Munster locations.
Cork Airport has also recently made a strong submission to Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) seeking the safeguarding of a future light rail route, off the planned east-west Cork LUAS line.
